Piano Lessons

Piano Lessons
Hi everyone!
Welcome to the wonderful world of music and the benefits that learning an instrument such as the piano provide. I am enthusiastic about teaching and learning and believe in the following points:
-
Learning should be fun
-
Learning is lifelong - you never stop learning
-
A balanced repertoire produces well rounded players
-
The teacher is a facilitator of learning rather than just a disseminator of knowledge
-
Learning goals assist progress
-
A regular practice routine of skills learned at lessons is an enabler of progress
-
Shared responsibility of learning maximises success
-
Positive self-esteem is at the core of all learning
-
Musical possibilities are endless so aspirations need to be nurtured and supported
-
A growth mindset is essential - the concept of 'yet' is powerful - 'I can't do it' can be rephrased as 'I can't do it yet'
-
There is no 'one size fits all'

Beginner and Non-Beginner Students
Learning the piano is an exciting adventure and is a great learning opportunity that can open a world of enjoyment. I cater to the needs of beginner students by tailoring to individual needs and like to use books from a tutor series book to begin with such as Music Adventures or Bastien. When the time is right and depending on student interests and development, there is a world of other music to explore. I always consider first and foremost what is best for my students.
I also take non-beginner students at any level up to more advanced. I tailor learning to the needs of each individual and can incorporate more traditional with contemporary styles.
Please feel free to make enquiries to discuss further.
